Abstract

This research focuses on maritime research which includes strategic issues in the development o f the tourism industry and research topics on bureaucratic reform and public services in tourism. The objectives o f this research include; (a). categorizing forms o f community participation created in the management o f tourism in the tourism area in Lampung Province, (b). formulate potential factors from stakeholders and the community that hinder or encourage the successful participation of tourism management communities in the regions in Lampung Province. Thus recommendations can be generated in the form o f things that need to be anticipated or strengthened in the design of stakeholder participation policies.
This research wants to describe and explain the symptoms and trends that appear in the focus of the study. The survey technique was carried out in collecting the first focus data, while in the second focus the collection of data was carried out through in-depth interviews, observation and focus group discussions. From the results of the study note that community participation in thinking, energy and material for the development of attractions is different if the community is asked to participate if not asked. But the community already has a readiness to participate in the development of attractions, it’s just that people still have to be actively invited by the manager to participate.
